For those of us who were out playing footie yesterday, you would have felt the rain begin to fall just as the games were drawing too an end. The rain continued on an off throughout the night culminating an a torrential downpour around 8am in the morning. This appeared to be enough for most games to called off though a couple did survive. Springhill FC have been out of action since the 18th of October when they lost for the first time to champions FC Sparta Corinthians. After what must have seemed an age since they could put that behind them, they returned to action against Bucks (Aylesbury) who are our first side to make the return trip to the prison. Dave Fountains men took a 6-1 beating back in September and with only 10 men today, they put a brave fight and a much improved performance eventually going down 5-2. Incidentally, this game was played with three qualified officials for the first time as The Management Committee has decided that whenever possible, all games played at Springhill FC will now have a referee and two qualified assistant referees. On this miserable morning, it's congratulations to the players and management of Thame Athletic and Unique FC. Their Chris Payne Trophy game was due to take place at Towersey, but not surprisingly, the pitch was waterlogged so they game was switched to Weston Turville. With Unique sporting their new purple kit, they went on to progress to the Quarter Finals with a terrific 8-0 win with at tricks from both Stu Bedford and Jamie Lewis with Dave Touceda and Dave Ranger getting on the scoresheet as well. All other games off. Here are all of Sundays results: The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Intermediate Cup Round Three
