Aylesbury's County Cup hopes end for this season as both Sparta and Aylesbury Town crash out
AFC Waddesdon and Stoke Mandeville book their places in The Chris Payne Trophy semis
The Prem title chase is still on as Britannia United, Elm Farm and Springhill all record big wins, but it's looking grim for Bucks and Padbury
An amazing day in Div One as The Square look to be losing their grip at the top, Sparta Reserves are thumped by lowly Meadowcroft, Cavese get a big point against in form Cheddington whilst Grenson and Torpedoes share eight
A Horwood hat trick gives Excel Dents a big win at Thame in Div Two's only game

In The Intermediate Cup, FC Sparta Corinthians welcomed Reading's Dee Road Rangers FC to Haywood Way with both sides sporting 100% league records so far this season.  Despite taking a two goal lead after just 16 minutes, our champions couldn't quite match the determination of the Berkshire visitors and although James Faulkner went on to complete his hat trick, it wasn't enough as Sparta crashed out 5-3 after extra time.

Meanwhile, Aylesbury Town's County FA Junior Trophy ambitions ended in a narrow 3-2 defeat away to MK's Wolverton Town therefore sadly ending The SLN Aylesbury Sunday Football Combination's hopes in County Cup comps for this season.

The Chris Payne Trophy is running behind schedule this season.

Two of the four quarter finals were played today and it will be another week at least before the semi final line up is complete.  In today's ties, Jakemans Sports and Stoke Mandeville, both going great guns in their debut season, were drawn against each other and it was Stoke Mandeville who progress after a fine 4-1 win with Carl Aldridge bagging a brace along the way.

In the other game, Div One's AFC Waddesdon entertained Div Two's FC Wanderers and here's the action from what turned out to be a cracking cup tie at a sunny but cold Meadowcroft:

Wanderers keeper Chris Finch keeps out Waddesdon's striker Will Gadsby.

Wanderers striker Steve Keating's shot looks to have beaten the keeper...

...but his effort comes back off the post...

...and Stuart Creaser (far right) bangs it in to make it 1-0 to FC Wanderers.

Wanderers WAGS.

The Waddesdon players claimed this effort went over the line...

...but the defender on the far right of the picture cleared it away...

...and Will Gadsby blasts it over the bar.
Will it be Will's day we wonder?

AFC Waddesdon's player/manager/Chairman and the rest - Adnan Yasin...

...and FC Wanderers player/manager/physio Jon Eley.

One on one..

...but keeper Finch is there again to keep his side in the lead...

...bur right on the stroke of half time, Will Gadsbgy(11) makes it 1-1.

Textbook flagging from the big fella.

Tackles like this would make headlines on Sky Sports!!
But in the real game, not a word from anyone.

Just a few minutes into the second half and Wanderers take the lead with Stuart Creaser getting his second.

Chris Finch watches this Waddesdon effort come back off the post...

...before Will Gadsby (out of shot) makes it 2-2 with his second of the day.

Waddesdon's Andrew George being watched closely!!

Outnumbered he is, but Will Gadsby gets to the ball first to grab his hat trick and make it 3-1 to AFC Waddesdon.

A bit of a tumble in the box as Waddesdon keeper Shaun Blevins tidies up...

More in hope than anything else, Wanderers claim a penalty and to the surprise of everyone, it's given

Steve Keating picks himself up to take the spot kick only to see it brilliantly saved by keeper Shaun Blevins.

Will Gadsby (far right) gets his and his sides fourth - game over...

...and it looks all over for The Wanderers faithful...

...before Steve Keating scores to make it 4-3.

Man of the match.
AFC Waddesdon's four goal hero Will Gadsby.
Final score, AFC Waddesdon 4, FC Wanderers 3.

For the first time in quite a while, we had a full programme of games on our Premier Division.

Game of the day came at Walton Court as two of the more fancied 'outsiders' in the title chase took on each other when Elm Farm welcomed VTS FC.  Two goals from Lee Parrack helped Elm Farm boss Kenny Fletcher grab the three points for the home side and put them just three points behind the leaders as they went on to win it comfortably 6-0.  Springhill FC comfortably dispatched Padbury AFC 6-2 and Britannia United kept up their hopes of the title as an Anton Goss hat trick contributed towards their crushing 11-2 demolition of Bucks (Aylesbury) who are now firmly rooted to the bottom of the table.  In the final game, Nags Head made the long trip to Ickford and came all the way home again on the end of a 4-1 defeat.

In Div One, only the leagues in form side Aristocrat FC got the day off on account of there being an odd number of teams in the division, but elsewhere, it was a day of high drama.

Game of the day in this tight division was undoubtedly the one between FC Torpedo Aylesbury and Grenson as who can forget their epic tussle in Div Two last season.  Things don't seem to have changed between the two rivals as the game ended 4-4.  Meanwhile, leaders The Square FC looked to have hit trouble.  After a shock defeat at the hands of Aristocrat recently, they went down 2-1 to Unique FC who could only muster the bare 11 men.  Stuart Bedford's first half header and Nick Little's early second half solo effort gave Unique FC a battling win despite Kedge Jeffrey's late 89th minute consolation.  One goal separated AS Cavese and Cheddington last time they met with Tyler Penman's Badgers getting the three points that day.  Today, nobody could break the deadlock and we got one of those extremely rare goalless draws. In the final game, in form side FC Sparta Corinthians Reserves blew the chance of gaining ground on the leaders as they were well and truly hammered 5-1 by Meadowcroft United.

There was another shortened Div Two programme with only the one game taking place this week.

Thame Athletic welcomed Excel Dents to Towersey and a Jodean Horwood hat trick helped the visitors to a fine 6-1 win.
