It's the good, the bad and the ugly as far as results go for our sides in The Junior Trophy this morning
In The Prem, Elm Farm beat Bucks and Brit batter Ickford.
In Div One, The Square pull clear at the top after a win over hungover Unique, Grenson and Torpedoes win to stay in the chase and Cavese are off and running with a fine win away at Cheddington
In Div Two's only game, St Johns climb a place after an impressive win away at Ickford Reserves

In The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Intermediate Cup, FC Sparta Corinthians travelled to north Slough to take on Stoke Poges Dog & Pot FC.  Despite getting a bit lost on their journey from Aylesbury, they managed to come home with great 5-3 win. Our only other team left in the counties top Sunday cup comp were VTS FC and they travelled in the opposite direction to MK to take on Great Holm Steel FC.  They too put in a great performance to win 2-0 and progress to round four.

In The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Junior Cup, AFC Waddesdon narrowly missed out on a place in the next round after going down 4-3 to Stoke Hammond Sports Club at Walton Court.  Jamie Griffiths, Michael Doyle and Andrew George were our sides scores today.  Meadowcroft United's 2-1 defeat away at MK's Open University Reserves FC means that we'll now have nobody left to look out for in this competition.

In The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Junior Trophy, Stoke Mandeville FC faced possibly the toughest tie when they travelled to Holmer Green FC who are right up there High Wycombe's Sunday League Div Four.  An outstanding performance from that old veteran Kevin Poole together with a couple of goals from Paul Jeffrey ensured that our boys came home with a stunning 4-2 win in what was arguably the result of the day.  Chearsley Cricketers were going great guns in all cup comps so far this season, but they came crashing back down to earth after a 10-1 thumping at home to Wycombe's Happy Union Reserves.  Southcourt Spitfires took on Wycombe's Hazlemere Sports and lost 3-0 whilst Jakemans Sports beat another Wycombe side 3-0 in Hour Glass FC.  Aylesbury Town welcomed Old George Inn (Colnbrook) FC to Meadowcroft, then sent them home again with a convincing 6-0.  FC Wanderers had a tough draw against Belmont (Chesham) FC and lost out 4-1 and Excel Dents also came up against high flying Chesham opponents in Magpies 91 Reserves FC at Fairford Leys.  The visitors could only muster 10 men and for a while it looked like there could have been a shock on the cards, but the visitors finally won it 4-2 with a couple of late breakaway goals.

Now to league action and in The Prem, Britannia United versus Ickford was billed as being a tight game given both sides indifferent start to the season.  However, Britannia United showed their class and in doing so ended Ickford's winning run with an easy 6-1 victory.  Bucks (Aylesbury), who have had their troubles this season, took on Elm Farm who beat them 15-0 just a few weeks ago.  It was a little closer this time as Kenny Fletcher's side ran out 5-0 winners - a results that sees them go second in the table.

In Div One, the chasing pack look to gain ground on leaders The Square who were at home to Unique FC who had their 'Christmas doo' last night.  The hangover didn't go away as The Square raced to a half time 6-2lead before eventually winning it 7-3.  The chasing pack both won as Grenson beat LBG (Aylesbury) 2-1 and FC Torpedoes thumped Aristocrat 8-2 at Fairford Leys.  Finally in this division,  AS Cavese got their first win of the season with a shock 2-0 win away at Cheddington.

There was just the one game in Div Two when Ickford Reserves welcomed St Johns.  The visitors came home with 3-0 win and they climb a place in the table tonight.  The game between Winslow Town and Thame Athletic was postponed as Winslow are once again under suspension with The County FA!

Sadly, Results Secretary Dave McArdle has reported that some sides still seem to forget that the MUST phone in the result BEFORE 2PM regardless of whether or not they are playing at home or away in the cup.  Today, there has been some fines dished out for a few of our sides so please remember a couple of points.  Milton Keynes aint that far away!!! and mobile phones work throughout Buckinghamshire!!!
