COUNCIL VENUES - HOW TO FIND THEM

Bedgrove Park

Leave Aylesbury town centre on the main A41 towards Hemel Hempstead, Watford/Berkhamsted. At a mini roundabout, you will go past a garage with The Plough pub next to it on your left. Carry on for approximately a mile until you come to a roundabout. Take the third exit into Bedgrove, you will see The Duck pub immediately on your right. Carry on for about half a mile until you see a large pub on your right (The Buckinghamshire Yeoman). Turn left into the road immediately opposite this pub - Ambleside, where you will see two churches on the corner of either side of this road. The football pitches are then about 300 yards on your left with a large car park.

Meadowcroft

Traveling west on the A41 as if you were leaving Aylesbury, you will see the large shopping areas on your left.  Go straight over the roundabout with MacDonalds on your left.  At the next roundabout, turn right into Meadowcroft.  You will see the John Kennedy pub on your right and a row of shops on your left.  Carry on this road for about half a mile, over a mini roundabout where you will see the pitches on your left and the floodlights of the Astroturf pitch.  Turn left into the car park after about 100 yards.

Walton Court            Edinburgh Sports Ground         Fairford Leys

These three venues are within spitting distance of each other.  You can also use these initial directions
in red to get to the following teams home venues:

Ickford & Ickford Reserves FC

Britannia United FC, St johns FC, Jakemans Sports FC, Chearsley Cricketers FC & Thame Athletic FC

To get to all of these venues, leave Aylesbury town centre on the A418 Oxford Road heading south towards Oxford and Thame where you will see the TA Centre (Viney House) on your right.  Go over the hump back bridge and you will see Aylesbury College and Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School on your left.  You will then hit a major set of traffic lights that may hold you up for some time if you’re unlucky.

For
Edinburgh Sports Ground you will need to turn left at these lights into Churchill Avenue. You will then see a large roundabout ahead of you with the new Islamic Centre on your right.  Go straight over this roundabout and you will see the pitches in the distance.  Follow the road round where you will see the car park on your right.  There is a row of shops opposite this car park.

For
Walton Court you will need to go straight through these lights and carry on until the next roundabout and take the second exit (Ellen Road).  Carry on this road for about a mile until you see the pitches on your left. Turn left into Hannon Road keeping the pitches on your left and a small shopping centre on your right.  You will need to park on the road adjacent to the pitches and changing rooms.  You will also see that Walton Court actually backs on to Edinburgh Sports Ground.

For Fairford Leys you will need to go straight through these lights. Carry on along the A418 over the roundabout (as mentioned in the Walton Court directions).  At the next roundabout, turn right into Fairford Leys, Coldharbour Way.  You will see the pitches immediately on your left through the trees.  At the next roundabout, take the first exit left where you will see the changing rooms and car park about 100 yards in front of you.

Clubs who do not use council venues for their home games

Nags Head FC

Nags Head FC play their home games The Winslow Centre in Winslow - directions to follow.

Cheddington FC

Cheddington FC play their home games The Rec in village of Cheddington - directions to follow.

Unique FC

Unique FC play their home games in the village of Weston Turville at the Memorial Playing Fields - a couple of miles or so east of Aylesbury.  There are a couple of ways to get there, but here's how I do it.  Travel east on the A41 out of Aylesbury.  You will reach the roundabout where you would turn off to go to Bedgrove.  Instead of this, keep going on the A41 and take the next right signposted Weston Turville (you will see The Holiday Inn on the corner).  Travel along this road for approximately 1 and a half miles passing Weston Turville Golf Club on your right.  At the mini roundabout, turn right onto Main Street.  About a fifty yards or so on your right is School Approach.

Britannia United FC

Britannia FC play at Stone Recreation ground is on the A418.  Follow the directions for Fairford Leys by traveling along the main A418.  Instead of turning right into Fairford Leys, carry straight on this road.  The road bends round to the right and you will have the Bugle Horn pub in front of you on the left. Carry straight on for about half a mile and you will enter Stone.  You will see the Rose & Crown pub on your right then a bit further on you will see a new Indian Restaurant next too a small garage.  Just past this you will see the ground on your left.  You can try and park around this area, but there is a small car park at the rear of the ground.  To get to this car park, go past the ground, round the bend take the 2nd left into Chiltern Avenue.   Follow the road to the end and take right into Bishopstone Road.   Take 1st Right into Round Hill and follow road around to the Car Park.

St Johns FC & Jakemans Sports FC

Both these sides will their home games at St Johns Sports & Social Club which is on the A418 about a mile or so further on than from Stone Rec where Britannia United play.  Keep going past Stone Rec along the A418 and leave Stone.  Just after the last roundabout, you will see the national speed limit signs. Just before these is the entrance to the ground on the left.  Parking can be tight unless they allow you to park on the grass.

Ickford FC & Ickford Reserves FC

Follow the directions for Stone Rec and St Johns S&SC as above but carry on the main A418 towards Thame.  When you reach the main roundabout for Thame, take the third exit towards Oxford (M40), remaining on the A418.  Carry on until the next roundabout and again taking the third turning, remaining on the A418 towards Oxford.  You will see a sign directing you to turn right to Ickford – IGNORE THIS SIGN.  Carry on for about a couple of miles until you reach Tiddington.  On the right, you will see The Fox pub.  Turn right at this pub towards Ickford.  Carry on this road until you come to a T-junction.  Opposite this junction you will see the entrance to the ground.  You will have to park on the road outside this entrance.

FC Sparta Corinthians & VTS FC

These sides will be playing their home games on the second pitch at Aylesbury FC, Haywood Way in Aylesbury.  Follow the directions for Meadowcroft by traveling west on the A41 out of town.  Instead of turning off to Meadowcroft, you carry on over the next mini roundabout.  At the next roundabout, take the third exit into Jackson Road - you will see a big pub on the corner called The Cotton Wheel.  Haywood Way is the second on your left and you will see the ground ahead of you.

LBG (Aylesbury) FC

LBG (Aylesbury) FC play their home games at Kimble Cricket Club in Little Kimble which is between Aylesbury and Princes Risborough.  Leave Aylesbury on the A413.  Go over the Bedgrove roundabout and the new Hampden Hall Roundabout.  At the next roundabout turn right into Station Road.  Go over the railway bridge with Stoke Mandeville train station on your left.  At the next roundabout take the first exit signposted the A4010 for Wycombe.  You will have The Bull pub immediately on your left and The Wool Pack pub about 100 yard further on.  Carry on this road for a couple of miles to the next roundabout where you will be taking the last exit remaining on the A4010.  Remain on this road for exactly one mile and you will enter Kimble.  After about 100 yards or so, you will turn left signposted Chinnor B4009.  As soon as you turn you will go under a railway bridge.  IMMEDIATELY after this bridge, turn right into Marsh Lane.  Kimble Cricket Club is about half a mile on your left.  Parking is tight, but this is one of the best venues on the league and certainly has the best playing surface as it doubles as the cricket outfield in the summer months.

Padbury AFC

Follow A413 from Aylesbury to Buckingham via Winslow,  Take 2nd left Springfield's, signposted playing fields, straight on to car park and pitch.
PLEASE DRIVE VERY SLOWLY THROUGH ESTATE.  This is the home pitch of Padbury United FC
