The SLN Aylesbury Sunday
Football Combination
News, results and action
from our first set of midweek games
Wednesday 2nd April 2008
HEADLINES -
In the first midweek action
of the season, Div Two leaders Elm Farm thump Cheddington Res, Nags start
their mammoth run of league games with a vital win over Thame and Exiles
stay second with a win over FC Wanderers
Division Two
provided out first set of midweek fixtures of the season on a miserable
murky evening. Nags Head now have only 10 games left to cram into
the last month of the season, but moral should be high after a 4-2 win
over an improving Thame Athletic. Aylesbury Exiles have fewer games
left to play but they consolidate second place in the table after a
beating FC Wanderers 5-3 at Fairford Leys.
Elm Farm remain top
of the pile and odds on favourites to take the title after beating in form
Cheddington Reserves 6-0 at Walton Court.
Here's some of the
action and I apologise for the lack of picture quality as the camera
struggles in the gloomy conditions!

Cheddington Reserves FC get our midweek fixtures underway.
There are some concerns over midweek games, but Cheddington show it can be
done as they had a full squad of players plus 3 subs and despite work,
travel and and other commitments, still managed to organize themselves and
to get kicked off at 6.09pm - beat that?

Elm Farm go 1-0 up...

...and it's 2-0 moments later.

For most of us, it was straight from work and straight to footie - perhaps
our minds were on other things!

Another goal for Elm Farm...

...and this wraps up scoring for the night as night draws in.
Final score, Elm Farm 6, Cheddington Res 0.
