HEADLINES
In the Prem, the Champs set out their intentions.  It's tighter at The Rec as Rockwood nick it at Ickford
A shortened Div One programme, but The Topboys show they mean business as they put 8 past 9 man Belgrave.  Unique battle for a point against the Div Two champs and Padbury Utd Res send Grenson packing with six of the best
In Div Two, Elm Farm and Exiles off too a flyer as Cheddington grab a point. Wanderers taught a harsh lesson by The Nags and nomads Winslow Town put 6 past Ickford Res

99 goals were scored in our opening 12 games this morning - that's an average of over 8 goals per game!

In The Prem, champions VTS FC got off too a flyer as they thumped newly promoted Chandos Arms 10-1 at Haywood Way.  Things were much tighter at The Rec in Ickford as they entertained newly prompted Rockwood FC - 3-2 the final score to the visitors.

In Division One, the game of the day looked coming at Westcott Sports & Leisure Centre when newly promoted and last years Chris Payne Trophy winners AFC Belgrave welcomed much fancied newcomers The Bell Topboys.  With the home side only able to muster 9 men on the opening day, it was the Topboys who came out on top with an emphatic 8-1 win.  Unique FC grabbed a valuable point from last seasons Div Two champs Bucks (Aylesbury) in their 2-2 draw and Padbury Utd Res look like being a force to be reckoned with yet again as they thumped Grenson 6-0.  Somewhat disappointingly, the game between Yeoman and Halifax (Aylesbury) was postponed - don't know why - and the game between Stone FC and Cublington was also off as Stone were unable to raise a side.  This means that as both Cublington and Halifax (Aylesbury) have byes in the cup next week, they won't kick a ball in anger till mid September!

Aylesbury United star Nathan Graham (11) puts The Topboys 1-0 up on their way to thumping AFC Belgrave 8-1 at Westcott this morning.

Referee Keith Doughty.

Topboys' Kerry Jeffrey gets the first of his two goals - keep up with play lino!!

Belgrave keeper Tom Davies is rooted to the spot as he sees substitute Daniel Collins sweet strike hit the back of the net.

Leon Gordon gets on the score sheet late on.

It could have been much worse but for the heroics of stand in keeper Tom Davies seen here saving from Topboys' Shayne Simpson.

In Div Two, newcomers Elm Farm FC took apart last seasons basement boys Walton Street Rangers with a spanking 11-4 victory.  A winning start also for Aylesbury Exiles as they beat Padbury AFC 5-3 at Springfields and Cheddington Reserves grabbed a point in their opening game in the Combination with an exciting 3-3 draw away to Excel Dents.  FC Wanderers were the only one of our new sides to come out out of the opening days games with nothing as they were soundly beaten 8-1 by Nags Head.  Finally, Winslow Town may be having trouble finding a home to play their footie this season, but wherever they played today, they saw off Ickford Reserves with a comfortable 6-0 win.
