Troubles
continue for VTS as they are sent crashing out of The County Cup.
Ickford are thrashed, but FC Aristocrat and Aston Clinton S&SC are
safely through
Big
wins for the top two in Div One
Leaders
continue their good run in Div Two. Nags go second, Cricketers win
the Towersey derby and Dents put the brakes on Walton Streets good run.
Celebrations in Padbury as they record their first win
With only six sides
in our top division, it's always going to be a big ask to for one of our
sides to keep up the recent good run of one of them reaching the final of
The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Intermediate Cup. This season, high
hopes were pinned on VTS FC doing just that, but after beating Aston
Clinton S&SC in the league in dramatic circumstances recently, things
have taken a turn for the worse for our reigning champions. They
came up against MK's Steven Eagell Toyota FC today and they were knocked
out 2-1 at Haywood Way. Ickford meanwhile were sent home from
Belmont (Chesham) with a sound 8-0 drubbing. It was much better for
our other two sides though as Aston Clinton S&SC came back from Milton
Keynes with a 7-1 win over Swan Fenny SS.
When the draw was
made, it was FC Aristocrat's away tie with former SLN Aylesbury Sunday
Football Combination Premier side Bell Hotel (Winslow) that caught the
eye. There's no better facilities around where you can play footie
on a Sunday morning than at the home of Winslow United FC - so nice that
the dog was barred!! Here's the action:

Bell Hotel (Winslow) FC play their home games at Winslow United FC.
It was a disappointment to all of us when they left our league to go and
play in The Leighton & District League.
A good team and no better place to play your football on a Sunday morning.
Too nice for the dog to come along - he was left at home today.

With only a disappointing 10 men to field from the outset, FC Aristocrat's
James Baxter goes close early on.

Good handling under pressure from the Aristocrat keeper.

Bell's Paul Talbot went close just before half time as it ended goalless
in a tight first half.

After a quiet, uneventful first 45, referee Bob Hurley gets us underway in
the second half...

...and it's FC Aristocrat's Rikki Sinfield who puts his side 1-0 up almost
straight away.

The pressure's on now as Bell's Ian Cross heads this one off his own goal
line.

A bit of a boring picture with not much going on...

...but Aristocrat's James Booth wasn't happy with something he saw and
decides to take the law into his own hands by pushing an opponent to the
ground.

The usual pushing and shoving ensued as referee Hurley stands back and
looks out for any offenders...

...after the handbags are put away, it's a yellow for Bell's number 8...

...and red for Aristocrat's number 5 James Booth.

Bell Hotel pile on the pressure with their opponents now down to nine
men...

...as another effort sails high and wide.

With The Bell pushing for the equalizer, Aristocrat's Carl Clay misses
this sitter at the other end...

...and yet another chance goes begging for Aristocrat's Johnny Miller.

Mr Hurley signals full time. Final score, Bell Hotel 0, FC
Aristocrat 1.
In today's league
action, Halifax (Aylesbury) made it 7 straight wins with a comfortable 7-0
away to Cublington in Div One. It's still not quite enough to give
them top spot though as The Bell Topboys beat third place AFC Belgrave 5-2
at Burcott and remain top on goal difference. Today's victors meet
next time out in The Vale of Aylesbury Cup second round on November the
18th - should be one to watch.
Elm Farm continue
their dominance of Div Two as they soundly overcome the challenge from
third placed Aylesbury Exiles this morning, 7-1 the final score here.
Nags Head remain just two points behind them tonight as they beat Ickford
Res 4-1. Walton Street Rangers have climbed up the table recently
after several good results. They came unstuck today though with a
6-3 defeat to Excel Dents. Padbury AFC are celebrating their first
points of a struggling season season tonight as they beat Cheddington Res
3-2 at Springfields and it was a thrilling derby clash in Towersey,
Oxfordshire as two clubs who groundshare fought out a 7 goal thriller with
Chearsley Cricketers eventually overcoming newsboys Thame Athletic 4-3.
The game between Winslow Town and FC Wanderers was postponed late on -
don't know why, but the game looks to now have been re arranged for next
week!
