VTS stage a remarkable comeback to see of High Wycombe's high flyers in The County Intermediate Cup.  Nags' patched up warriors' cup run is grounded at Airport Motors and Sparta progress to make it a bad day all round for Bucks (Aylesbury)
Brit no show hands Elm Farm an easy three points in The Prem
Spitfires come away from MK with a great win in The Junior Trophy and Aylesbury Town come home with a win from Slough.  Great wins also for Jakemans and The Cricketers as Winslow Town concede to FC Wanderers.  St Johns are our only losers this morning as they are just squeezed out by Machzone Rovers
All square in Div One's top clash as The Square win again to pull clear at the top.  Aristocrat get the points against Cheddington and it's win also for Unique and Sparta Reserves.
Stoke Mandeville go back to the top of Div Two after thumping Ickford Reserves

Our top flight teams - and those in our bottom division - were in action in The Berks & Bucks County FA Sunday Intermediate Cup and The Berks & Bucks County FA Sunday Junior Trophy this weekend.

In common with our colleagues from The Aylesbury & District Football League, just two of our big guns will feature in next weeks draw for the Counties Premier cup competition.  Look out for the draws for all The County Cup comps online on The B&B FA website early next week, meanwhile you can see all the latest draws in our three domestic cup comps by clicking here.

In the Counties top Sunday comp, we were guaranteed at least one side progressing when FC Sparta Corinthians took on Bucks (Aylesbury) at Bedgrove Park.  It was a one sided affair with Sparta winning through 7-1 with Paul Alleyne grabbing four.  Bucks boss Dave Fountain can take little consolation from getting his sides only goal after a bad day was made even worse with the news that his side have been kicked out of The Vale of Aylesbury Cup for fielding an in eligible player in the last round.  Still, this is great news for Excel Dents who are now reinstated and face FC Sparta Corinthians in the Quarter Finals!!

Slough's Airport Motors FC sent our Britannia United packing in round one and they did the same to Nags Head FC this morning, 4-0 the final score.  With a patched up side still having nine players out with sickness, The Nags fielded two goalkeepers up front and felt that if they had a full strength side, then maybe things could have been different.

In the last tie, VTS FC faced a tough game at home against Wycombe's Happy Union FC who are sitting second in their table - here's the action from a cracking cup tie at Haywood Way:

The two sides stand silent to remember the fallen this Remembrance Sunday.

Your head feels a lot smoother and it looks a lot shinier than mine!
Ref Paul Bateman gets his top polished from the Happy Union's giant defender.

With only 10 men on the park from the outset, VTS were under pressure and soon went one down.

A little late, but reinforcements have arrived...

...but not in time for the visitors to go 2-0 up.

With their game against Britannia United being called off this morning, the players from Elm Farm came along to support their mates...
Penalty???

It's got to be?
No way says referee Paul Bateman.

Days, hours or moments?
It's only a matter of time before The River Thame, just yards from the touchline at Haywood Way, bursts its banks.

Aylesbury FC Vice Chairman Danny Martone.
With a crowd of around 40 watching this morning, he's wondering why he didn't charge the lot of them to get in!!
Whilst pondering and looking on...

...to what might have been?
If things had turned out a bit different a fortnight ago, then Aylesbury FC could have been hosting League Two's Rotherham United in The FA Cup this weekend.
It wasn't to be, so the expected 4000 crowd didn't come and the newly erected TV tower remains unused for another day.
Incidentally, Aylesbury's conquerors Wealsdstone FC went on to lose narrowly 3-2 in their FA Cup tie.

The last action of the half saw this effort cleared off the line by VTS who looked down and out at the interval.

Nephew James out reporting with his Dad this morning in the Lancashire equivalent of their County Cup in a wet and cold Blackpool.
There were lots of games called off 'up north' this morning, but you can see some action that did take pace in The Lancashire Sunday Trophy here

It looked all over for VTS at half time, but this Jack Turnham effort early in the second half looks to have brought them back in it...

...something isn't right though...

The Happy Union lino thinks he's seen an offside in the build up...

...but Mr Bateman doesn't agree and it's 2-1 now.

Crunch!!

CONTROVERSY!!
Through on goal, the VTS striker is taken out.
Mr Bateman gives a free kick and is poised...

...but that Happy Union lino has his flag raised again, this time with the helpful guidance and advice from the watching Elm Farm players.

The ref took the word of the lino this time and it was free kick to the defense.

2-2 now and VTS are right back in it through Turnham again.

Some net repairs were in order.

The tie could have gone either way as VTS keeper Gary Wiltshire pounces on this one...

...and the visitors could have won it with this late chance being just out of reach.

With moments to go, VTS could seal victory with this open goal chance...

...just put it away...

...no, the defender gets back to clear his lines and surely now it's extra time.

Big bully!!

PENALTY???
VTS get a penalty in in the dying moments...

...Sean Callaghan steps up to the plate...

...it's there.

Tough game, tough tackles and the tough guys show a sporting gesture at the end.
A thrilling cup tie with VTS going through 3-2.

All of our sides in The Berks & Bucks FA Sunday Junior Trophy had a bye in Round One and those who have entered this season were in Round Two action this Sunday.

Southcourt Spitfires FC have had a traumatic start to their season with their only previous cup game seeing them conceding 10 without reply in The Vale of Aylesbury Cup.  They have also failed to register a single point point in their first five league games so it must have been with some trepidation that they travelled to MK to take on Inter Inchley Reserves FC this morning.  Despite all the odds being stacked against them they turned in arguably the performance of the day with a terrific 3-2 victory.  Division Two high flyers Aylesbury Town took on BX FC who were another one of those unknown Slough sides.  They needed extra time to progress to round three as they won through in what seemed a classic encounter 5-4.  In another close encounter, Will Rodnight bagged a brace for Chearsley Cricketers who will now become known as our 'cup specialists' after a narrow 4-3 victory over FC MMIX at Towersey.  Justin Fielding was another player who struck twice as his Jakemans Sports side continued their impressive debut season with a comfortable 6-2 home win over Chesham Strides.  Winslow Town looked to have got their season back on track after a troubled start, but they couldn't muster enough troops for this mornings tie with fellow SLN ASFC side FC Wanderers so they are out!!  Sadly, St Johns FC, making their debut in this competition, couldn't make it a clean sweep for our sides as they went down 3-2 away to Machzone Rovers.

Britannia United's debut season in the top flight looks like going from bad to worse.  Only two players bothered to show up for today's only Prem game with Elm Farm so the game was off.

Outside of the County Cup games, Division One took centre stage and one game stood out from all the others.  We all remember the titanic battle between Grenson and FC Torpedo Aylesbury last season with the Div Two title being fought out between them and the fight going right down to the final day.  They met again this week with both sides again featuring in the title chase once more and looks like being just as tight this time around as the sides shared the points and the four goals today.  Dave Daley and James Ward were on target for Grenson with Tom Phipps and Paul Strong netting for The Torpedoes.  This all meant that The Square FC would now extend their lead at the top of the table after a high scoring 6-4 win over AFC Waddesdon with Kerry Jeffrey grabbing a couple of his sides goals.  Aristocrat FC faced Cheddington just a fortnight after the sides met in a controversial 3-3 draw.  The Management Committee are still deliberating over that one, meanwhile, it was somewhat of a shock as Cheddington seemed to have taken their eye off the ball as Aristocrat recorded only their second win of the season with a 6-4 win that now puts them mid table.  AS Cavese's poor start continues as Unique FC's season looks to be improving.  Just a few weeks after the two sides fought out an interesting 3-3 draw, it was Unique FC who won the return fixture quite comfortably this morning 4-1 with goals from Anthony Nichols, Stuart Philbey (pen), Nathan Brownsword and a spectacular Spanish volley from David Touceda.  In the final game in this division, Meadowcroft United went down 4-2 at home to FC Sparta Corinthians.

In the only Div Two game this week, Ickford Reserves welcomed Stoke Mandeville FC and should the visitors come home with all three points, then they would regain top spot.  It turned out to be a straight forward trip back to top spot for the newcomers with an easy 7-0 win.  The leagues current top goalscorer Tony
