No shocks in today's cup games and It's Premier Division side Ickford FC who book their place in the semi final of this seasons Tony Higginson Challenge Cup.  They came through a tough tie against Div One Bucks (Aylesbury) with a 3-1 win.

A cold, frosty, but sunny start at Fairford Leys for this mornings cup games.

Ickford go close.

Goal for Ickford.

More action from the game between Bucks (Aylesbury) and Ickford at Fairford Leys.  The visitors go through to the semis with a 3-1 win.

The other quarter final tie between FC Aristocrat and AFC Belgrave was postponed.

In round one, their were narrow victories for both VTS FC, who squeezed past Halifax (Aylesbury) at Haywood Way, and Yeoman are through after beating Stone FC 3-2 at Stone Rec.

In The Chris Payne Trophy, Elm Farm are safely through to the semis after beating Cublington 6-2 and Chearsley Cricketers also book their semi slot.  They beat Excel Dents on penalties after it finished 1-1 after extra time.

In round one, Walton Street Rangers eased too a 5-0 half time lead against improving FC Wanderers at Fairford Leys.  Jon Ely's men made a good fist of things in the second half though, but could only manage the one goal assisted by Chris 'Poodle' Ely - 5-1 the final score.

Walton Street take the lead early on...

...and they were on target again as they raced into a 5-0 half time lead.

The continuing ref shortage meant that today's referee was officiating in his third game in two days - not bad for 42 years old!
Dedicated, fit, professional - I could go on, but I won't!!

Walton Streets Danny Hunt goes into the book and he was even kind enough to write his name down for me...

...but he isn't getting his hands on my yellow card!

After weeks of rain, cold and wind, it was nice for everyone to be out in the fine weather and fresh air.

Wanderers never gave up and you could say they 'won' the second half 1-0.  This effort goes close.

League Chairman Roland Simmons out enjoying the spring like weather and the footie this morning.

When you've got an itch, you've just gotta scratch it!
The FC Wanderers crowd are left to concentrate on the league for this season after a 5-1 defeat today.

Nags Head are through, but they needed extra time to overcome a battling Grenson FC who were playing only their second competitive game since late November 2007!

Just a couple of league games this weekend and The Bell Topboys, now just left concentrating on gaining promotion to the top flight, beat Unique FC 4-1 at Bierton - a result that sees Shayne Simpson's men open up an 8 point gap at the top of the table.

There was just the one game in Div Two as Winslow Town took on Padbury AFC in a 12.30 kick off at Fairford Leys.  The visitors from Padbury ran out 3-1 winners in the end - a result that sees them leapfrog their opponents at the foot of the table.

The continuing referee shortage meant that I was out reffing again today and it's thanks to League Secretary George Key (sadly out injured for the remainder of the season) who took today's photos.

George Key.
Out of reffing for the rest of the season, but put to good use with the camera today.
