Rockwood go clear at the top of the
Prem tonight after late winner over Chandos Arms. FC Aristocrat pile
on the agony for VTS and Aston Clinton S&SC win at Ickford
AFC Belgrave see off higher
opposition to make it through in The County Cup. Bucks crash out in
MK. Wins for lowly Grenson and Stone over fellow Div One sides
Big
win for the Wanderers as troubles continue for Winslow Town in Div Two
Reigning Premier
Division champions VTS FC have now lost their last three games.
Today they come up against newly promoted FC Aristocrat who inflicted the
champs heaviest defeat in years with a staggering 8-2 win at Haywood
Way. Aston Clinton S&SC may well be in the bottom half of the
table, but they have three games in hand over the leaders and they had a
comfortable 5-2 win away at basement club Ickford this
morning.
In a week when it
was announced that all Prem sides will play each other 3 times this
season, Rockwood and Chandos Arms met for the third and final time at
Weston Turville today. One win for Rockwood and an entertaining 3-3
draw in the first two meetings this season so far and here's the action
from today's final league game:

Me and the dog pay our respects at the war memorial in Weston Turville
this morning...

...and the players observe a minutes silence before kick off on this
bright, sunny Remembrance Sunday.

Rockwood's Nick Young's spectacular diving header at the near post opens
the scoring after 2 minutes - pity it's through his own goal!

It would prove to be a game to remember for Chandos keeper Richard Scott.
No problems tipping this one over the bar...

...but he lets this effort from Rockwood's Chris Green slip under his body
moments later. 1-1 now.

Richard Miles - reportedly the oldest man on the pitch - heads home to put
Chandos Arms 2-1 up.

It is quite acceptable in this day and age for men to wear tights -
Chandos Arms' Robert Springer in touch with his feminine side!

Keeper Scott is routed to the spot as Lee Haines fires home for Rockwood
to make it 2-2 at the break.

Chandos Lino Ritchie Boyle tries to explain away another one of his dodgy decisions!!

Ben Sullivan goes close.

Rob Elsey.

Richard Scott produces another fine save...

...and an even better one moments later as he parries this one onto the
crossbar.

Chandos Arms centre half Dave Butler.

Former Arsenal & England defender Nigel Winterburn out watching his
son James - Chandos Arms' new signing this season.

Referee Mike Dobson has already had a check of that huge watch of his and
we're well into stoppage time now...

...keeper Scott misjudged the bouncing ball and Rockwood's Craig Fraser
heads into the empty net.
Final score, Chandos Arms 2, Rockwood 3. A result that sees Rockwood
go three points clear at the top of the table tonight.

Only a few hundred yards for the players to make their way back for some
post match refreshments.
Not for me though - no dogs allowed!

Six of our Div One sides
were in County Cup action today in Round Two of The
Berks
& Bucks FA Sunday Junior Cup.
Inter
Inchley FC of The New City Heating Milton Keynes Sunday League Premier
Division ought to be in The Intermediate Cup really, but for some reason
they were placed in the Junior Cup. It doesn't really matter anymore
though as they are no longer in either competition as AFC Belgrave sent
them back to the concrete city with a 3-2 victory at Westcott Sports &
Leisure Centre. Bucks (Aylesbury) made the opposite journey to MK
and came away with nothing as they were convincingly dumped out of the cup
6-2 by Open University Reserves. The only other two ties featured
clubs from our league and they both produced somewhat of a shock.
Grenson traveled to Springfields to play last seasons Chris Payne Trophy
runners up Padbury Utd Res and came away with a win by the odd goal in
7. Cublington still can't win at their new home in Wingrave as Terry
Medd's Stone FC continued their roller coaster season with a comfortable
3-0 win that sees them into this weeks round three draw.
There
was only the one game in Div Two today and it was the re arranged game
from last week between Winslow Town and FC Wanderers. After a
promising start to the season, Winslow Town are starting to let it slip
and they were well beaten today by lowly FC wanderers 5-1, a result that
sees Jon Eley's men pull clear at the foot of the table.
Here
are all of today's results:
