The semi finals of The Tony Higginson Challenge Cup finally went ahead today - a month behind schedule.

Aston Clinton S&SC reached the final for the third time in four seasons with a 3-1 win over Unique FC.  It was a game of two halves with Aston Clinton doing enough over all after racing too a 3-0 half time lead and this keeps up the 100% winning record for the new management duo of Pete Weirich and Danny Bowden.

FC Aristocrat were taken all the way by a brave Ickford FC in today's other semi.  Steve Mortimer gave the Premier Division's basement club a surprise lead before the current Prem leaders came back to win it 2-1 after extra time.

The final will take place at Aylesbury Vale FC next week kicking off at 4pm.

There was just the one game in the Prem this week as VTS FC kept up their slim title hopes with a 6-0 win over Chandos Arms at Weston Turville.  'Birthday boy' Lee Parrack bowed out at half time with an injury to his big toe and it was left to his striking partner Pat Callaghan who eventually found his shooting boots and weighed in with a hat trick.  The two sides will do it all again in the league next week at the same venue in a change to the scheduled fixtures.

In Div One, the game between AFC Belgrave and Cublington was postponed.  Leaders The Bell Topboys had a day and second place Halifax (Aylesbury) used up one of their two games in hand in their chase for the title.  The visitors to Kimble Cricket Club were Yeoman who, despite still hovering down the bottom, put up a brave fight to come away with a valuable point in a 1-1 draw.  After spending most of the afternoon trying to establish the result, Padbury United Reserves drew 1-1 with Grenson at Springfields - get them results phoned in quicker next time please!!! Excel Dents can now only realistically make second place after suffering another 4-2 defeat at the hands of Padbury AFC in just three weeks.  Padbury have spent a lot of time down the bottom of the table, but are beginning to come good and climb into fifth place tonight.  Ickford Reserves can't make a top two finish and their 2-2 draw with neighbours Chearsley Cricketers means that they can now start looking forward to the cricket season as they can no longer finish in the top two either.  Thame Athletic are having an excellent end to their first season in the league but their outside chance of a top two finish is over tonight after they suffered a shock 3-1 home defeat to Winslow Town.
