It was a very sad start
to today's games as news came through that Haydon Hill are set to resign from
the league. With only 6 players making themselves available to Manager
Craig Topping for the last two league game and despite signing several new
players recently, they are left with no choice but to call it a day.
In the depleted Premier
Division that remains, champions VTS FS went top after their 3-1 win away at
Ickford. Chandos Arms and Rockwood fought out an entertaining 3-3 draw at
Weston Turville.
In Div One, The Bell
Topboys took to the field at their new home venue of Burcott Lane, Bierton for
the first time today. They took on last seasons Div Two champs Bucks
(Aylesbury) and won 4-1. Unique FC have had an up and down season so far
and they will be happy with the 3 points as they beat Terry Medd's previously
unbeaten Stone FC 5-2 and in the battle of the bottom two, Cublington narrowly
defeated a battling Grenson by the odd goal in 5.
The top two in this
division also met today as Halifax (Aylesbury) took their 100% unbeaten record
to Westcott Sports & Leisure Centre to face overnight leaders AFC Belgrave -
here's the action:

Autumn arrives in Westcott.

Halifax Player/ Manager Mark Corns puts his side one up early on

Belgrave's Danny Gordon (9) sees his shot come back off the post with keeper Ian
Wallace well beaten.

League Vice Chairman Jim Wallace chats with Referee Mike Dobson during half time.

Steve Beckett (blue 14) squeezes the ball home and makes it 2-0 shortly after
the break.

This great save from the Belgrave keeper denies Beckett this time.

Me and the dog waited patiently for the burger bar to open, but it never did!!...

...just some of the derelict buildings that surround the pitch at Westcott -
what a waste!

Handball? The Belgrave players thought that there was a handball on the
line, but referee Dobson waved their appeals away...

...and Halifax's Steve Beckett (14) is ready to pounce to make it 3-0 moments
later.

Keeper Wallace is left rooted to the spot as yet another Danny Gordon effort
come back off the frame of the goal.

Bobby Dillon comes as a substitute and makes it 4-0...

...and you can just see him celebrating his second as he makes it 5-0.

AFC Belgrave score in stoppage time, but it's not enough to prevent their
opponents going top of the table tonight.
Final score, AFC Belgrave 1, Halifax (Aylesbury) 5.
