No real shocks
today as round two of The
Vale of Aylesbury Challenge Cup went ahead in cold, wet blustery conditions this
morning.
VTS FC have hit trouble of late and they wouldn't have been relishing the
trip too a bleak Towersey Sports & social Club to face Chearsley
Cricketers. They managed to scrape through to the quarter finals
with a narrow 3-2 win. Two sides both riding high in their
respective divisions met at Westcott Sports & Leisure Centre today and
it was the Prem side that came out on top as FC Aristocrat beat AFC
Belgrave 5-3. No problems for Aston Clinton S&SC as they saw off
lowly Winslow Town 12-3 at Aston Clinton Park and despite having only 9
men for the whole game, Cublington put on a brave show before losing out
7-2 to Nags Head. Cup specialists Unique FC hammered Cheddington
Reserves 10-1 and Yeoman booked their place in the next round draw with a
narrow 2-1 win over Padbury Utd Res. Tie of the round came at Bierton
as The Bell Topboys welcomed unbeaten Halifax (Aylesbury). The
visitors came away with a well earned 2-1 win and maintain their 100%
unbeaten record in all competitions.
The
draw for the quarter finals has been made and you can see it here.
Only
one game in Div One today and it was a meeting of two sides who have had
mixed fortunes so far this season. After last weeks County Cup heroics,
Stone FC and Grenson met at the Rec. In an entertaining game, it was
Terry Medd's Stone FC that eventually ran out 3-2 winners.
It
was equally as exciting in the only game in Div Two today as Excel Dents
and Thame Athletic fought out a 3-3 draw.

are all of this weeks results:
