The Management committee met last Thursday and here are few bits of news that came from it:
Padbury United Reserves FC have informed the league that they will not be registering with us next season. So far, 22 of our sides have re registered and around 5 new sides have shown an interest in applying. The Management Committee meets again on Thursday 5th June where a 'draft' set of leagues will be drawn up for next season and presented at the AGM on Thursday 26th June.
**Remember, if your team hasn't registered on or before the night of the AGM, then you will not be able to play in the league next season**
In the past, our sponsor (SLN Aylesbury) have provided each side with an item of equipment that is presented to those teams present at the AGM. This has recently comprised of either a football or a first aid kit. The Management Committee would like your suggestions on what teams would prefer this season. Some other suggestions were a set of drinks bottles or some lino's flags. You can either send your suggestions to The League Secretary, George Key, or email them directly to me here. Only sensible, realistic and clean suggestions will be considered!!
Nags Head FC have been awarded the points from their recently postponed game at home to Chearsley Cricketers. Ickford FC have been awarded the points from two games that will not be taking place. Their home games with Chandos Arms and Rockwood have been postponed with both these sides unable to field teams.
With the season being extended by one week, this presented a problem to some sides who had made other plans for this weekend. The sides concerned approached the league and arranged to play the games this coming Wednesday. The Management Committee would like to thank all those concerned for their efforts and initiative in getting these games re arranged and the season completed.
Referees Secretary Jim Wallace will be stepping down form his position at the AGM. A replacement has come forward and he will be up for election for the post, along with anyone else who wishes to be considered, at the AGM. Basil Wetters has resigned from the Committee due to work and family commitments.
